It was a project carried out between 2020 and 2023 led by a voluntary group which supported Parishes across the county to identify and designate suitable rural lanes as ‘Quiet Lanes’ to make them safer for people to use for exercise and more active forms of travel.

“Our village and the surrounding countryside is something which should be protected for the future generations to be able to explore and enjoy.   Quiet lanes could allow families with smaller children the opportunity to gain knowledge of nature and also road safety, whilst the older population can get the exercise and fresh air they require with an added element of safety.”
